NEW PROJECT!

Exciting new times!

Hello to all.

I hope you're all well and wrapping up warm as the night's begin to draw in and the weather begins to cool down. I love the change of seasons and have even began making mulled wine and bought some chestnuts to start warming me up in the evening, yummy!

But, the seasons aren't the only thing that's changing. After nearly two years since leaving The Pipettes, I finally have some news regarding my new project, Projectionists. We have been toiling away for about a year now, however with me based in Brighton and the guys based in Manchester, it's been a hard slog. So, I have made the decision to move to Manchester! I love it there and always have done since The Pips were received so well there. So, yes, I shall be calling it home as of December in order to give Projectionists my full attention. There is no Myspace as of yet, but keep your eyes posted as we have recorded nearly an albums worth of material.

We really are the class of 2006 (with members from Alfie, The Earlies and Liam Frost), and it's been a while since any of us have been involved in anything. The boys were in the studio last night and the word 'excited' is definitely an understatement, it's all shaping up very nicely and we hope to be gigging early next year (there may also be a super, secret debut performance on Radio 6 as early as this year), but i'll keep you all posted.

In other news, I'm rehearsing with an amazing artist called Jesca Hoop at the moment, which has been a fantastic experience. We'll be gearing up for shows next year, but expect to hear us in Session with Marc Riley in December. Check her out, she's awesome!

That's all for now! But, look out for future updates!

Take care,
Becki. x

You've missed her, I've really missed her! Her smiling, bespectacled face.
Here's hoping Manchester will be a good move, career-wise and otherwise.
Everybody everybody, come on, we can count you if you want.

I can't wait to hear the new material. Every time I listen to the stuff she put together last year I keep thinking- Whatever happened to Becki??? Now we know.

Music and tense women's tennis
Current mood: excited
Category: Music
Hey Y'all.

I'm currently sat watching an almost David versus Goliath (in stature atleast) women's Australian Open final between Serena Williams and Justine Henin, of which man-mountain Williams is bound to win, and it's given me the perfect opportunity to write a short blog about my goings on.

We begin the Jesca Hoop tour next week in Cardiff, and I strongly recommend anyone with a love of beautifully crafted songs to pop along and see her/us. Check her out at myspace.com/jescahoop. All the tour details are on there and I shall be joining her on all but two of her headline dates. It's all so exciting! It's been over two years since I performed with The Pipettes and it's an absolute honour to be singing with as amazing a talent as Jesca is. The rehearsals have been sounding great and i'm looking so forward to getting back on the road again. Unfortunately, (but fantastic for us) London is sold out, but there are plenty of other dates that you can get to see us. And if you do, make sure to come say hi!

Regarding Projectionists, we are in the process of finalising an EP, which we expect to have finished by the end of March and hope to release around May/June. Look out for gigs from April and an EP launch in Manchester (followed by a short tour) around May/June. I can't wait to get our songs out there and start touring, but we want it to be great and that takes time!

Anyway, back to my lazy day.

Take care,
Becki.
